Day2 of Chinese New Year 2006
It’s day no2 of Chinese New Year 2006 and as I write this post it’s noon time. Today everyone of use woke up at the same time and we initially planned to have breakfast at home but later decided to eat out. Most of the coffee shops are open today and we went to our usual coffee shop. Apparently the was a price increase but it’s only for the beverages and not the food. An increase of 20 to 50 cents per cup were noted. This is a usual practice where prices are higher during the 1st few days of CNY and prices will revert back to normal again in a few days time.
Actually for most businesses, the CNY holidays will stretch for a week with some almost 2 weeks as noted from the notices. It’s a time for a long break after the hard work for the year. Anyway after we had our breakfast we had a drive around trying to locate the lion dance troupes as my daughter loves it. We did the same yesterday and followed the lion dance around in our car. Well today we are not that lucky as we did not encounter any and hopefully they will show up in our housing estate today. There were two yesterday and I was told there are about 7 to 8 lion dance troupes in Labuan.
The weather is fine but cloudy and there is a chance that it may rain. Most of our neigbours are not at home as we tried visitng one of them but they were out. Most likely we will do our visiting tonight.
