Grand Reunion Dinner 2008
Well the Grand Reunion Dinner of Class 1983, St Joe finally came. I remembered the first notice for this dinner was posted 4 years ago and 4 years just whizzed by. Just proof that how fast time passes. Anyway back to the dinner, it was a great evening and here are some photographs taken by me.

Sharifah, the MC kick start the dinner

Here’s Siao Yen giving a speech, the theme for the dinner is “Then and Now”

Chee Leong and Father Michael Sia and Alexander Chin.

It’s makan time and there is Mr Chin talking to Mr William Ng, Mdm Chong ( Mrs Ngui ), Father Michael Sia, Chee Leong and Bruce and Corrine Tan.

Former classmates catching up, here is Silvia chatting with Alexander Chin and Richard Wong in the background.

Former students catching up with teachers. Siew Moi in red, Stanley and Toh Seng Huat on the right.

Wing Hon and wife, Richard Wong , Siao Yen , Alex Tan.

One of the highlight of the evening, Patrick Aching singing his up coming album.

Here is My Yii imparting some words of wisdoms to us.
Reflecting on the occasion, the more significant part of this event are:
# the chance to meet former classmates, some of whom I had not met for close to 25 years.
# The chance to say thank you to our teachers.
And this was made possible because someone had made the effort in organizing this and I am talking about the organizing committee for this dinner, the chair person Siao Yen, acting chair person Alexander Chin and the rest of the team. It was no easy feat, even Mr Yii conceded that they had a hard time themselves organizing a get together dinner. The successful holding of the grand reunion dinner is due to the hard work and skill of the organizing team. Good work and well done.
Equally memorable was the singing performance by Patrick, your voice is as smooth as butter and didn’t know you are in a band too until the reunion dinner.
Mr Yii, thanks for the words of wisdom about life. Yes, there is more to life than making money. Important things in life not to miss out are friends, happiness and good health. You definitely looked to have all three and I bet you are even fitter than me
.
Father Michael Sia’s speech is equally good and touching. If I sum it up correctly, the message is that we should not forget those who had contributed to our life and teachers are one of them. We should also show gratitude and thanks to them for the sacrifices that they made.
The dinner ended maybe around 11pm or something (did not keep track of time anyway) and few of us hang around until 12am. I regretted not been able to talk to all who are presence and also wish to see some of our classmates but they were not there during the dinner. Perhaps the next time we can meet again. With this I end my post and if any of you my friends, classmates reading this feel free to comments, thanks and have a great 2008 year ahead.
